Welcome to the STAR Registry Level 1 Self-Assessment submission guide. This document is tailored for users who are responsible for submitting Self-Assessment information on behalf of their organization. The guide covers:

Preparing for Your Submission
Step 1: Create Your Account
- How: Navigate to the STAR submission system and sign up.
- Tip: You can use social media accounts (Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn) or your email for sign-up. If you opt for email, you'll need to confirm it before proceeding.
Step 2: Confirm Your Email
- How: Check your inbox for a confirmation email from support@auth0.cloudsecurityalliance.org.
- Tip: If you don't receive the email within 30 minutes, please check your spam folder or contact our support team.
Step 3: Gather Required Information
- What: Prepare the following details:
- Point of Contact (PoC) Name
- Backup PoC and their Email
- Phone Number
- Tip: Your privacy is important to us; this information will not be shared with third parties.
Step 4: Optional - Download CAIQ Document
- How: Download the CAIQ 4.0.2 document here.
- Why: It helps to have all the necessary information in one place before starting the submission process.
Submitting Your Self-Assessment
Method 1: Using the 'Manage Assessments' Function
- Fill the CAIQ Document: Complete the CAIQ spreadsheet. This is optional but recommended.
- Complete the Assessment: Answer all questions in the 'Manage Assessment' section.
- Review and Submit: Ensure all questions are answered and explanations are provided for "Not Applicable" responses before hitting the "Submit" button.
Method 2: Using the 'Import Assessment' Function
- Prepare the CAIQ Document: Complete the CAIQ spreadsheet without altering its original format.
- Import the Document: Use the 'Import' button to upload the CAIQ, filling in your Cloud Service name and CAIQ version.
- Submit: Click the "Submit" button at the top of your Assessment.
Final Steps
- Select Your Organization: Choose from the dropdown or create a new one.
- Select Your Cloud Service: Choose from the dropdown or create a new one.
- Await Confirmation: Your submission will typically be posted within one business day, but it may take up to five business days.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure the CAIQ document is in its original .xlsx format.
- Do not alter the columns, rows, or tabs in the CAIQ document.
