To remove yourself from a Google group:
- Identify the email address of the group that you would like to be removed from. This is the email address that mailing list emails come from, simply check the "From" field, e.g. an example group with the address: "example@groups.cloudsecurityalliance.org"
- Then simply compose an email to "example+unsubscribe@groups.cloudsecurityalliance.org" with an empty subject line and empty body
- You will be removed from the group within 10 - 15 minutes and receive an email confirmation from Google
- Please ensure the following:
- You have the correct group name
- You add "+unsubscribe" to the group name
- You have the correct domain name, e.g. most of the public CSA groups are in the subdomain groups.cloudsecurityalliance.org
- You are emailing from an address that is actually subscribed. Some companies have multiple domains or have changed domain names, e.g. you may have subscribed as username@example.org, and your organization has renamed to examplenew.org, meaning that your email address will appear as username@examplenew.org, which Google will be unable to unsubscribe since that specific email address is not on the list. You can either have your email administrators fix the problem, or if they are non responsive you can email support@cloudsecurityalliance.org and tell us the old email address you wish to unsubscribe, once we confirm ownership of it we will do so
